Dorhout Mees presented her FW 2014/15 collection'PASSAGE' at Mercedes-Benz FashionWeek Amsterdam"To share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable, to make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength" (Criss Jami).
This qoute was sums up the poetic story behind the collection.
The show started with a visually stunning video that immediately takes you into the designers world.
In this collection soft materials and organic shapes are combined with hard and graphic shapes.
Striking was the use of the wood as a returning material in accessories. Wood was clearly the main source of inspiration for the collection.
In addition she presented her 4th collection of shoes. The 3d shoes are designed as wearable broken pieces of wood.
The label Dorhout Mees was founded in 2010 by the Dutch designer Esther Louise Dorhout Mees. After her studies at ArtEZ Academy of Arts in Arnhem and many years of working as a designer for established labels, such as Bruuns Bazaar and Tommy Hilfiger, it was time to start her own label.
